One of a teacher's most powerful tools is the relationships he/she builds with students. Positive relationships create a foundation of trust and often become the vehicle through which a teacher engages and motivates students.
While it is easy to say, "Build relationships," it is not always easy to do. One of the greatest challenges to teachers is carving out time for connections without sacrificing instructional minutes. To address the time issue, strategies for building relationships must be embedded in the instruction.
